Spring 2021 Update
Dear Friends,
Spring Greetings from Lake Chapala, Mexico!
Here is a quick update of what is going in our neck of the woods…
STASIA’S SURGERY
Stasia broke her femur and her kneecap in February and went in for surgery to get it repaired. The recovery has been slow but steady. She uses a cane to walk now. We appreciate your prayers for her complete healing and restoration.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
As we write this, we are en-route on a journey across the western US to see long lost family members and catch some rest and relaxation along the way. We will be visiting our daughter Chelsey in Salt Lake City, John’s sister Birdie in Seattle, and our daughter and son-in-law Brittany and Chuy and our two grandchildren who reside in San Diego. Our good friends, the Adlers, have provided us a B & B free of charge on San Diego’s Mission Bay, which is a real treat! Thank you Kai and Bev!
Please pray for traveling mercies and open doors for our family as we travel. Thank you!
WE ARE BELIEVING FOR REVIVAL IN AMERICA
We are still believing for good things on the national front, though it can certainly be discouraging as we hear of all the negative policy changes being enacted. We must remember that everything that happens in our lives. both corporately and as individuals, serve for our good.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, whohave been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
and again…
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2
and again…
“These are the nations the Lord left to test all those Israelites who had not experienced any of the wars in Canaan (he did this only to teach warfare to the descendants of the Israelites who had not had previous battle experience)” Judges 3:1-2
Friendly Reminder: We may want our victories served up to us on a silver platter, but most of the time God’s challenge to us is “Go out and get it.” Faith and Patience. Prayer. Daily walking out the promises.
The Spring season serves as a fresh reminder each year that we serve a God of new beginnings, that seeds sown will, in due season, produce a harvest. And God will be glorified.
We want to thank you for all of your prayers for our family and ministry here in Lake Chapala. We have included a clip that we produced for our home church in Laredo, which captures our 35 years of missionary service in a nutshell. We hope you enjoy it.
May the Lord Bless and Keep You…
In His Mighty Grip,
